Is Black Bear Lake open to the public?
No, each day is reserved well in advance by either one very large group with exclusive use of the facility, or by several smaller groups for shared-use.
How do I make a reservation for my group?
Please contact us by phone or email to make your reservation. A signed contract and deposit are required to reserve an event date. If a signed contract and deposit are not received in a timely manner, the event date may be released.
What is the minimum number of guests needed to have an event at Black Bear?
Typically the minimum is 100 guests.
What are the days and hours of your events?
Black Bear Lake hosts events from early June until September. Weekend picnics run from 12:00pm -5:00pm. Some exceptions may be made for large groups with exclusive use of the property and additional fees would apply. Weekday and weeknight events are available on certain dates. Please call for details.
Can you have more than one event at a time?
Yes, Black Bear Lake has five private pavilions available. Most dates are shared dates where each group will have their own private pavilion, with their own BBQ buffet, drinks and any additional extras would be served to their group only, and the facility amenities would be shared. For a group of 1,000 or more, exclusivity is available on certain dates. Please call for details.
What happens if it rains?
Black Bear Lake is a rain or shine facility and experienced in hosting events in all kinds of weather. We have plenty of covered space. Picnics will continue as scheduled.
Do you have Handicapped parking and is parking included?
Yes, we have a number of easily accessible spaces for people with disabilities. Transportation on to the property with motorized vehicles is also available for handicapped or seniors. Free on-site parking is included for all guests.
What should we bring?
Black Bear Lake has seating in all areas of the park and sporting equipment is provided for Tennis, Softball, Soccer, and Basketball, and Volleyball. If you plan to fish, you will need to bring a fishing pole.
What kinds of boats do you have?
We have 4 seat pedal boats. Swimming, pedal boats, and the lake waterpark are all supervised by first aid certified lifeguards.
Will we be able to bring a stroller into the park?
Yes, all areas are easily accessible by stroller. It will be easy to get from place to place as most of our picnic area is neatly paved.
Are there changing areas for the pool and for toddlers?
Yes, we have bathrooms at the pools and near our sports fields for changing clothes and diapers.
Are the picnic areas in the shade?
Yes, all of our 200 picnic tables are shaded. With the exception of our pools and Sports Fields our entire campus is situated under tall pines making for a cool and relaxing day.
Are pets allowed?
Due to health department regulations, no pets are permitted.
